Officers and members of Department of Tourism (DoT) accredited tour guides from Bohol Island Tour Guide’s Association of the Philippines, Inc. (BITGAP) and Kahugpongan sa Bol-anong Guides (KABOG) undergo two days enhancement training in JJs Seafood Restaurant from September 25-26, 2017.
Sponsored by the City Government of Tagbilaran, organized by Ms. Shobel Ligalig of the City Tourism Office, the 1st Tagbilaran Tour Guide Enhancement Training aims of showcasing the competitiveness of Bohol and Tagbilaran City’s Tourism facilities and services.
Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap, in his speech said that the city government believes in the promise of the Tourism industry in the city. But seeing the potential is not enough, investment in both physical and human assets needs to be in place.
He emphasized that tour-guiding is not just an occupation but a passion and desire to showcase the best of Bohol.
“As tourism front-liners, it is imperative to undertake an enhancement training to make you, as tour guides, more effective”, he added.
The 1st Tagbilaran Tour Guide Enhancement Training coincides with the National Tourism Week celebrated every last week of September.
